Whether you have Nvidia Shield Experience 8.0.2 (2015/2017 models) or 8.1.1 (2019 models) you CAN set Sideload Channel Launcher 2 app, as default launcher Also on Xiaomi Box, MeCool KM3, KM1 and many other Android TV boxes. Last tested and confirmed 31/03/2020 The recent Shield Experience Updates for all models implements the new Google Certification rules whereby setting 3rd party launchers as default is no longer possible. And this capability WILL NOT return (as standard). But we can get around this limitation! ;) In this video we show you how. On the Nvidia Shield TV and Nvidia Shield TV Pro, this is how to configure any 3rd party launcher as default launcher - today we'll set Sideload CHannel Launcher 2 as default. Following the HotFix for the 2019 and 2015/2017 models, the default launcher option broke! And WILL NOT return. This is due to Google certification issues. The official line is that this feature will not be reinstated in Android TV. The 2017 & 2015 models will be updated to 8.0.2 in the near future and will also be restricted in this way, so.....
