Picked up this cheap keyboard for 31.99 Canadian for the office. Decided to do a quick comparison to some others I have. Breakdown in the description below. Kept that out of the video so those just wanting to hear the sound can do so. 1. Redragon mechanical keyboard. Blue switches (non-cherry). Non RBG lighting ($10 more gets you Rgb). They also have a model without keypad (tenkeyless). Has a relatively high actuation force for blues. The most i've ever used. I REALLY like that characteristics as i typically hit keys by accident on blues. They keyboard is built very well. NO flex in the board even when trying to twist. It feels similar in build to the coolermaster masterkeys in the 3rd section. 2. Razer Blackwidow. Cherry MX-blue switches WITH o-rings. You can tell the difference that the o rings make. Less travel and less sound. Excellent for light touch typing. Less clack and equal click. I mildly dislike the very light actuation force on this 3. Coolermaster Masterkeys. Standard mid size (not tenkeyless). Cherry MX- browns WITH o-rings. The o-rings are not needed, but they do eliminate the bottoming out sound. This basically makes the keyboard stealth. I use to game late at night, yet it is also excellent for typing. I would say its my favourite all-rounder. Built very well. 4. The beast. Unicomp classic dark variant with buckling springs. Very loud with heavy actuation force. If you arent a fairly large person like myself you may get hand fatigue after very long sessions. I love this option as it practically eliminates erroneous key presses. This is basically a tank of a keyboard. Okay for mild gaming, but I use it when I want a pure typing experience. 5. Membrane ps/2 keyboard. I had this for my win98 machine. Decided to do a quick comparison. Its a generic membrane keyboard. Feels like typing on an overripe avocado. Plus side, it is very quiet (excluding the space bar). Downsides, everything else

Find a Cheap Mechanical Keyboard Here - 🤍 I have been asked a lot about "which mechanical keyboard should I get? Should I get red, blue or brown?". SO I thought I would make a mechanical keyboard buyers guide. In this video I sum up the advantages and disadvantages of Blues Vs Browns Vs Reds Vs Clears Vs Greens Vs Blacks (I know there is a lot of them right). Overall though there are the 3 base switches and they are Blues / Reds and Browns, the blues have 2 levels of feedback, the browns 1 level and the reds none (a straight linear switch). The blacks are the same as the reds but heavier and more unique in regards to the bottoming out. The Greens I found were pretty heavy, so if you are thinking about this switch then I think you should certainly try it before buying it. The clears were a heavier Brown and I really did love these, after blues (my favourite) these would be my second favourite. Also what about the KailH Vs CherryMX switches? The KailH switches are also legit, upon trying these I literally couldn't tell the difference between these and a cherry... Also razer have their green switches (higher blues) and they are pretty legit also IMO. If you have any questions then leave a comment below. But for the pure best response times, then red and blacks are the best in my opinion, though keep in mind all mechanical keyboards will be pretty good for gaming, and I found browns and blues were very good double tapping. If you want no background music go view the plain sound samples: 🤍 But its not like you cant CLEARLY hear the sounds over the music unless your deaf, and if thats the case why are you listening? Here is a recording of the sound the cherry mx blue (regular das keyboard) and the mx brown (silent version of the das keyboard) makes using the newest model s. Different keyboard bodies and different keyboard key caps can effect the sound quite a bit, however the sound of the switches themselves will never change. So if your wondering if you should get blues because you heard they type well and feel great, or if you need to get browns because your worried about disturbing others with the click noise. Now you can hear how they sound and decide. In this test the microphone was the same distance away from both keyboard, I pressed the same amount on the keys and typed the same speed. As you can see from the wave form images the brows were actually louder! this is due to the noise the keys were making when they return to the unpressed position, but there is no clicking obviously from the switches. I plan to do the o-ring mod to the the silent keyboard and see if it helps any, but I have modded a few keys already and it did not seem to make much change. The sound is from the keys popping up not so much from being pressed down. What switch type do I prefer and recommend??? That my friends will be another video :D

If you are on the fence when it comes to purchasing a new mechanical keyboard with Gateron Brown or Gateron Blue switches: look no further. This video will be a comparison between the two key switch types. Recorded through an MXL 770 Condenser Mic, through an Alesis Multimix 4 Audio Interface. The audio was recorded in a room with carpeted floors. Both keyboards are the Aluminum RGB version of the Keychron K2. I personally enjoy the Gateron Blue switches more. I can type up to 80 words per minute, and hearing the switches click with each press improves my typing consistency and speed. Keyboard Link: 🤍 NOTE: Apologies for the autofocusing. I completely forgot to set it to manual.
